Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide

Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revived mechanic from previous PoE leagues, detailing how to initiate them, their mechanics, the Pinnacle boss, and the unique reward system.

Identifying and Initiating Rituals

On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a red pentagram icon. A Ritual Precursor Tablet, slotted into a completed Lost Tower, guarantees a Ritual encounter on a chosen node.

Once in a Ritual map, several Altars will spawn. Each map features a shared random modifier affecting enemy types or mechanics (e.g., massive rat waves or life-draining blood pools).

Interact with an Altar after noting its modifiers. A large enemy wave will spawn within a designated circle; remaining within this zone is crucial for completion. Exiting the circle prematurely ends the event without rewards. Successfully completing all Rituals on a map marks it as complete.

The King in the Mists: The Pinnacle Boss

'An Audience With The King,' a unique Ritual currency item, unlocks the Crux of Nothingness, home to the King in the Mists Pinnacle boss. Use this item in your Atlas Realmgate to access the fight.

Ritual Rewards: Tribute and Favours

Completed Rituals grant Tribute, a temporary currency exchanged for randomized Favours. More completed Altars increase Tribute and unlock more Favours, ranging from Magic items and low-tier currencies to Rare gear and high-tier currencies. 'An Audience With The King' is exclusively obtained through Favours.

Omen Currencies: Powerful items improving other currency effects (consumed upon use). Examples include Omens of Annulment and Alchemy. These are highly valuable and often traded for other high-value currencies.

Regular high-tier currencies (Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, etc.) also drop from Ritual enemies. The King in the Mists has a chance to drop Uniques from a pool exclusive to the Ritual event.
