The festive season is approaching, and Niantic is gearing up to launch the first part of their Holiday event in Pokémon Go, running from December 17th to 22nd. This event promises a delightful array of bonuses, special encounters, and seasonal challenges for players to dive into.
During Holiday Part One, you'll enjoy double XP for catching Pokémon and a reduced hatch distance for Eggs, making it easier to hatch them. A highlight of the event is the debut of Dedenne in a festive costume, with the possibility of encountering its shiny variant. Shiny Sandygast will also make its first appearance, adding to the excitement.
In the wild, you can encounter Pokémon such as Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, and Darumaka. Raids will feature a festive lineup, with one-star raids showcasing Pikachu in a Winter Carnival outfit and Psyduck in holiday attire. For a bigger challenge, three-star raids will include Glaceon in an Undersea Holiday outfit and Cryogonal, while Mega Raids will feature Mega Latias and Mega Latios.
Hatching seven km Eggs during this period might reveal Pokémon like Hisuian Growlithe or Cubchoo adorned with a holiday ribbon. For those seeking rewards, event-themed Field Research tasks and a paid Timed Research option for $2.00 are available, offering encounters with themed Pokémon, Premium Battle Passes, and more.
Collection Challenges are back, focusing on catching and raiding. Completing these will reward you with Stardust, Poké Balls, and Great Balls. Don't miss out on PokéStop Showcases, where you can display your event-themed Pokémon. Additionally, you can claim some freebies by redeeming these *Pokémon Go codes!*
The Pokémon Go Web Store is offering two limited-time deals. The Ultra Holiday Box includes a Pokémon Storage upgrade, an Item Bag upgrade, and 17 Rare Candies for $4.99. The Holiday Part 1 Ultra Ticket Box bundles access to Holiday events and a bonus Premium Battle Pass for $6.99. These deals are perfect if you're looking to stock up on resources.
