As we approach the end of January, fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket have a double reason to celebrate. The much-anticipated trading feature has finally launched, and it's accompanied by the exciting new expansion, Space-Time Smackdown!
Let's dive into the trading feature first. It's designed to mimic real-life card trading, allowing you to exchange cards with friends. However, there are some limitations to keep in mind. Only cards of certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star) can be traded, and you'll need resources like trade hourglasses and trade tokens to make these exchanges. Despite these restrictions, it's a significant addition to the game.
But that's not all! The Space-Time Smackdown expansion introduces legendary Pokémon Diagla and Palkia to TCG Pocket, along with the Sinnoh region starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, plus a host of other new cards to explore.
Ice-typeUnfortunately, the trading feature hasn't been universally welcomed. Some players have expressed disappointment, citing the numerous caveats as a major issue. While I believe the feature is a valuable addition, I agree that the restrictions might be too stringent. Ideally, Pokémon TCG Pocket could have either omitted trading entirely or made it more accessible without the need for resources or limitations on which cards can be traded. There's hope, though, as the developers are reportedly monitoring feedback and may introduce changes soon.
