Pokemon GO Reveals Tour Pass for Upcoming Unova Event

Summary

  • A new Tour Pass for Pokemon GO's Unova event will be available from February 24 to March 9, offering rewards and milestones.
  • Players can level up the Tour Pass by earning Tour Points through tasks like catching Pokemon and completing raids.
  • A free and deluxe version of the Tour Pass will be available.

Pokemon GO has announced an exciting new Tour Pass for the upcoming Unova-themed event, available to all players starting February 24. This pass is a fantastic addition to the Pokemon GO Tour, an annual celebration that this year focuses on the Unova region, featuring Gen 5-themed wild encounters, raids, and egg spawns.

The Pokemon GO Tour is a much-anticipated event that coincides with Pokemon Day and highlights a specific region each year. The inaugural event in 2021 celebrated Kanto, introducing nine new shiny Pokemon, including Mew and Ditto. Last year's event focused on Sinnoh, adding unique Pikachu variants with special accessories and the Origin Formes of Dialga and Palkia.

In preparation for the 2025 Pokemon GO Tour, Niantic has introduced a new Tour Pass available from February 24 at 10 am until March 2 at 6 pm local time. Every player will receive a free pass, which can be leveled up by earning Tour Points through daily tasks, catching Pokemon, completing raids, and hatching eggs. As players progress, they'll reach Minor and Major milestones, earning rewards such as candy and stickers. Those who reach the final milestone will be treated to an encounter with a Zorua featuring a special background. Remember, all rewards must be claimed by March 9 at 6 pm, as they will expire after this date.

Pokemon GO Announces New Pass in Anticipation of Unova's GO Tour

While the standard Tour Pass is free, a deluxe version will be available for $14.99 on the Pokemon GO Webstore from February 24 at 10 am until March 2 at 6 pm. This deluxe pass includes all rewards from both the free and paid tracks, an encounter with the Mythical Pokemon Victini, and the new Lucky Trinket item. This single-use item transforms a friend from the player's list into a Lucky Friend, ensuring the next trade results in a Lucky Pokemon and resetting the Lucky Friend status afterward. A deluxe pass variant with 10 unlocked ranks will be available for $19.99. Both the deluxe pass rewards and the Lucky Trinket will be accessible until March 9 at 6 pm.

The Tour Pass for Unova's GO Tour is designed to heighten the excitement for the event, which promises thrilling experiences such as the debut of Kyurem Black and White through fusion, reminiscent of Necrozma's introduction last year. Another highlight will be the debut of shiny Meloetta, available through ticketed Masterwork Research.
