Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, special Pokémon appearances, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd), prepare for a week of New Year's festivities!

This year's event offers a fantastic bonus: catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn a whopping 2,025 XP each! Immerse yourself in the celebratory atmosphere with festive decorations and fireworks illuminating the skies.

Expect increased encounters with special, costumed Pokémon. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and a party-hat-wearing Wurmple – and don't miss the chance to find their Shiny variants!

Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three have boosted Shiny rates during the event.
