Dynamax Pokémon Debut in 1-Star Max Battles

The season's launch introduces Dynamax versions of classic Pokémon in 1-star Max Battles:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Skwovet
  • Wooloo

Catch these Dynamax Pokémon (and their evolved forms!), with a chance to snag Shiny versions! Special Field Research tasks will also be available during the event, alongside PokéStop Showcases offering event-themed rewards.

Beyond the initial wave of Dynamax Pokémon, a new Seasonal Special Research story will be released on September 3rd (10:00 a.m. local time) and runs until December 3rd (9:59 a.m. local time). Complete Max Battle-focused tasks to earn Max Particles, a new avatar item, and more.

Max Particle Pack & Power Spots on the Horizon

A Max Particle Pack Bundle (4,800 Max Particles) will be available on the Pokémon GO web store for $7.99 starting September 8th at 6:00 p.m. PDT. These particles are crucial for the new Dynamax battles.

Rumors suggest the arrival of Power Spots next month, designated locations for Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and Max Particle collection. While Niantic hasn't confirmed this, it's an exciting prospect.

Mega Evolution & Gigantamax Possibilities

Pokémon GO senior producer John Funtanilla hinted that some Dynamax-capable Pokémon might also Mega Evolve, according to Eurogamer. While there's no confirmation on Gigantamax Pokémon yet (despite teases at Pokémon Worlds), Niantic promises further details on Dynamax battles soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
