Pokémon TCG Pocket Adds Trading Feature and New Expansion This Month

Apr 14,2025 Author: Liam

If you've been eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming trading feature for Pokémon TCG Pocket, your wait is almost over. The much-anticipated trading feature is set to launch on January 29th, and it will be accompanied by the release of a brand-new expansion called Space-Time Smackdown on January 30th.

Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket allows you to exchange certain rarities of cards with friends, mimicking the in-person trading experience. To facilitate trades, you'll need to use trade hourglasses and trade tokens, adding an intriguing layer to the game that enhances its authenticity as a digital version of the iconic physical card collector.

Following closely behind, the Space-Time Smackdown expansion will introduce fan-favorite cards from the Sinnoh region. This exciting addition includes two new digital booster packs featuring the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia. If legendary Pokémon aren't your focus, you'll still find plenty to enjoy with the inclusion of other beloved Sinnoh region Pokémon like Lucario, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. These cards will be accessible through the Wonder Pick feature as well as traditional booster packs.

This update is poised to be a major hit, especially with the long-awaited addition of these Sinnoh region Pokémon. However, there have been some discussions around how trading will function, so it's hoped that the promised continuous improvements to the feature will ensure a smooth experience for all players.
