Dive deeper into what this edition offers.
Priced at $69.99, you can secure your copy at Target, Walmart, or GameStop. It might feel a bit pricey, but the enhancements could be worth it for fans.
This edition includes the original Switch game along with the Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. If you already own the original game, you can opt to purchase the upgrade pack separately for just $10, offering a more budget-friendly option.
For those who own Breath of the Wild and are subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, the upgrade comes at no extra cost. It's included in your subscription, providing a nice perk amidst the additional expenses of the new console rollout.
This package encompasses the full original Switch game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, enhanced with the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. Expect improved performance, including faster frame rates and load times, as well as enhanced resolution and textures. The game will look and run better on the Nintendo Switch 2 than it ever did on the original Switch.
From our original review of Breath of the Wild: "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a masterclass in open-world design and a watershed game that reinvents a 30-year-old franchise. It presents a wonderful sandbox full of mystery, dangling dozens upon dozens of tantalizing things in front of you that just beg to be explored. I’ve had so many adventures in Breath of the Wild, and each one has a unique story behind what led me to them, making them stories on top of stories. And even after I’ve spent more than 50 hours searching the far reaches of Hyrule, I still manage to come across things I haven’t seen before. I’ll easily spend 50 to 100 more trying to track down its fascinating moments."
