The footage emphasizes the game's online co-op capabilities, allowing up to four players to engage in massive, chaotic battles featuring a roster of over 100 playable characters.

Developed by Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani, in collaboration with original Patapon composer Kemmei Adachi, Ratatan's Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2023, has successfully surpassed its console launch stretch goal, ensuring a release across multiple platforms.

Closed Beta Test Commences February 27, 2025

Ratatan's closed beta test is scheduled to begin on February 27, 2025, as announced via the game's Kickstarter page. Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared exciting updates, revealing that the game has amassed over 100,000 Steam wishlists and received enthusiastic feedback on its original soundtrack demo. While the game won't be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, the development team is prioritizing the closed beta and preparing an enhanced demo for the June Steam Next Fest.

Sakajiri detailed the closed beta's scope, confirming that the initial build will include Stage 1, with Stages 2 and 3 added throughout the approximately one-month test period. Distribution details for beta codes, including the start date and time, will be announced on the official Discord and X (formerly Twitter) channels.

Ratatan is poised for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. A precise release date is yet to be announced.
