The PlayStation Portal, Sony's handheld gaming marvel, is finally discounted—though only on the used market. Amazon Resale currently offers "Used: Like New" PS Portals for just $158.70, a significant 20% off the $199 retail price. While a Sony warranty isn't guaranteed, Amazon Resale's 30-day return policy provides peace of mind. Expect these to sell out quickly!

Looks and functions like new. Minor packaging damage noted.

Resembling an extended DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen, the PS Portal streams PS5 games at up to 60fps. It boasts DualSense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, using a touchscreen instead of the touchpad. While previously requiring a PS5, a recent update allows streaming directly from PlayStation Now, requiring only a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription (approximately $18/month). This opens access to a library of over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

While convenient, the PS Portal isn't the only way to stream PS5 games. The PS Remote Play app offers similar functionality on mobile devices, but with a more complex setup and fewer DualSense features.

PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy:

"The PlayStation Portal surprisingly exceeded my expectations. It's far superior to using a phone with a clip-on controller and works better than anticipated. The freedom to play my PS5 anywhere with decent Wi-Fi is fantastic. However, its lack of browser-based Wi-Fi login and Bluetooth audio support are baffling drawbacks. Despite these issues, it's currently the best solution for PlayStation Remote Play. If not for those caveats, it would be a must-have for any PS5 owner who enjoys handheld gaming."
