Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Manager, Matthew Griffin, confirms that Hollow Knight: Silksong is still under active development and will eventually launch. Recent speculation, fueled by a cake-related profile picture change by a co-creator, proved unfounded. However, Griffin's confirmation on X (formerly Twitter) provides much-needed reassurance to fans.

Griffin directly addressed fan concerns, stating definitively, "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release." This marks the first official update in over a year and a half, ending a period of silence that had fueled anxiety within the community.
The initial speculation involved a possible ARG or Nintendo Switch 2 announcement, but this was quickly debunked. While the cake incident was ultimately inconsequential, it highlighted the intense anticipation surrounding Silksong.
A Long-Awaited Sequel
Announced in February 2019 with an initial release window of the first half of 2023, Silksong was delayed in May 2023 due to its expanded scope and the developers' commitment to quality. The delay, now nearing two years, has understandably led to mixed reactions from the fanbase.
While some fans express gratitude for the confirmation and encourage the developers, others remain impatient, feeling that the update was insufficient. Despite this, the news confirms the game's continued existence and eventual release.
Silksong will follow Hornet's perilous journey to the kingdom's peak, featuring a new kingdom, almost 150 new enemies, and a challenging "Silk Soul" mode. It's slated for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. While a release date remains unannounced, fans eagerly await further news.
