- Sonic Rumble launch delayed for refinements
- Sega readies version 1.2 with fresh features and content
- Discord Q&A scheduled to address fan questions
Despite a vibrant pre-launch event showcasing Super Monkey Ball, Altered Beast, and other Sega classics, Sonic Rumble’s global release is on hold for now. The multiplayer battle royale, which amassed over 1.4 million pre-registrations, was poised for a major debut but Sega has decided to pause the rollout temporarily.
The delay allows Sega to polish update 1.2, introducing exciting additions like Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills to Dr. Eggman’s toybox universe. These features aim to enrich gameplay, offering more depth beyond the fast-paced battles.
Rumble Rankings will enable players to compete on seasonal leaderboards for exclusive rewards, while Crews let friends team up for score-based missions. The new Skills system equips characters with unique abilities, adding strategic depth to matches.
Instead of launching with unfinished updates, Sega chose to take extra time to perfect these features. Fans can look forward to a Discord Q&A on May 2nd, where developers will share updates and answer questions.
In the meantime, check out the top battle royales available on iOS to keep the excitement going!
The delay hasn’t diminished Sonic Rumble’s momentum. All pre-registration rewards remain secured, including 5,000 Rings, a Crystal Chao Buddy, the Happy Sticker, the Garnet Knuckles skin, and a stylish Movie Sonic skin for reaching the 1.4 million pre-registration milestone. These rewards will be ready when the game launches.
While awaiting the new release date, you can still pre-register for Sonic Rumble via the links below. The game will be free-to-play with in-app purchases. Visit the official website for more details.
