The mobile gaming phenomenon Monopoly Go is set to excite fans with a new collaboration featuring the iconic universe of Star Wars. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this thrilling partnership will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from the Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian. This fusion of real estate dice-rolling and science fiction promises to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience.

During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players will encounter beloved Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon avatars. The season introduces a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, along with the chance to participate in podracing at the Mos Espa Grand Arena. Collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis will also be available. Imagine the delight of seeing Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into crossover territory. Last September, the game featured a collaboration with Marvel, bringing characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into the mix.

In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, signaling their commitment to enhancing their mobile gaming offerings.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go topped the charts for consumer spending in 2024, amassing an impressive $2.47 billion. The game also achieved 150 million downloads and boasts 10 million daily users in 2024, highlighting its widespread popularity and success.
