Stardew Valley 1.6 Mobile Update Drops This November

Stardew Valley's highly anticipated 1.6 update is finally arriving on mobile devices on November 4th, 2024! Console players will also receive this major update, following its initial PC release in March 2024.

What's New in Stardew Valley 1.6 Mobile?

This expansive update significantly enhances the Stardew Valley experience. Key additions include:

  • Expanded Multiplayer: Support for up to eight players online, doubling the previous limit, allowing for even more collaborative farming and adventures.
  • New Fishing Festivals: Two exciting new fishing events, the Trout Derby and SquidFest, join the seasonal festivities, alongside an enhanced Desert Festival.
  • Meadowlands Farm: A fresh farm layout ideal for livestock raising and convenient fishing opportunities.
  • Enhanced Social Interaction: Over 100 new NPC dialogues add depth and personality to interactions with the townsfolk.
  • New Items and Crafting: A plethora of new items are introduced, including a Big Chest, dehydrator, heavy furnace, and bait maker, expanding crafting and storage options.
  • Customization Galore: New furniture styles and over 25 new hats provide extensive customization possibilities. A prize machine in Lewis's house offers rewards for completing quests and events.
  • Multiple Pets: After achieving maximum hearts with your initial pet, you can now acquire multiple pets, each potentially bringing gifts, and even donning hats! NPCs will also sport winter attire.
  • Ginger Island Assistance: A golden Joja parrot aids in locating the elusive golden walnuts on Ginger Island.
  • New Crops: Expand your farming with the addition of carrots, summer squash, broccoli, powdermelon, and two giant crop varieties.

The Delay Explained

The delay in releasing update 1.6 for mobile and consoles was attributed to thorough PC testing to identify and resolve any potential bugs before wider deployment.
