Starfield is set to receive more updates throughout 2025, as the developers at Bethesda have exciting plans in store. Dive into this article to discover what's on the horizon for Starfield and how the team has managed its updates since the game's launch.
Starfield is poised for further enhancements, with new content and features expected to roll out later this year. On March 7, 2025, the official Starfield Twitter (X) account announced that the development team is hard at work on something special for the game, though specific details remain under wraps. The post emphasized that 2025 holds a lot of exciting developments, and the team is eager to share more when the time is right. The developers are actively listening to fan feedback, hinting at a significant update on the horizon.
In a June 2024 interview with MrMattyPlays, game director Todd Howard expressed hopes for yearly DLC releases for Starfield. This suggests that the teased news could be pointing towards another expansive DLC for the game.
Upon its 2023 release, Starfield garnered critical acclaim but also faced mixed reviews, as it didn't quite match the experience of Bethesda's previous hits like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Despite this, it became one of the top-selling games of the year.
Post-launch, Starfield has seen numerous updates aimed at refining its features and mechanics, as well as introducing new content. The first and only DLC to date, Shattered Space, launched in September 2024, but it received "Mostly Negative" reviews on Steam. Players criticized it for its lackluster fetch quests, brief main questlines, and limited new enemies and content.
In a 2024 interview with The Gamer, Starfield Creative Producer Tim Lamb shared ambitions for the game to achieve the same enduring appeal as Skyrim, with plans for substantial post-launch content in the future.
With the latest update announcements, Starfield fans have much to anticipate in 2025. The game is currently available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned to our articles for the latest updates on Starfield!
