Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, is hinting at a possible PC release. While the game launched as a PS5 exclusive due to its Sony partnership, recent comments from the company's CEO and CFO suggest a PC port is under consideration.
Stellar Blade's successful PS5 launch, achieving top-selling status in the US and garnering an 82 average OpenCritic rating, has fueled interest in expanding the game's reach. During an IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is being considered, though the timing remains uncertain due to contractual obligations with Sony. CFO Jae-woo Ahn noted the growing PC player base for AAA titles and expressed optimism about the potential value increase for the IP should a PC version be released.
Shift Up's previous financial report already indicated exploration of both a Stellar Blade sequel and a PC port. Given Sony's growing trend of bringing its exclusives to PC (as evidenced by the upcoming PC release of God of War: Ragnarok), a PC port of Stellar Blade seems increasingly likely.
Currently, Shift Up is focused on optimizing the PS5 version, though a recent update introduced some graphical glitches. The developer has acknowledged these issues and is working on a fix.
