The Tachyon Medal is a crucial late-game item, integral to a challenging and extensive side quest. Obtaining it is only the first step; its true purpose unfolds later. This guide details how to acquire and utilize the Tachyon Medal.
The Tachyon Medal's existence is first hinted at in Shangri-La, and it's the final item acquired before the final boss encounter. Progress through the main storyline until reaching Sanctum, located in the God Realm via the Communication Network. Within the Mirror of Order, you'll face God's Predator, a formidable but conquerable boss. Be prepared for its summoned allies and its "Consume" attack, which inflicts significant damage (90% health reduction). Kina's healing abilities are essential here, and equipping Petrification Null gear is highly recommended.
Leo's Fire Samidare +2 proves effective against summoned enemies. Cherryl, with her Concentrate and Charge abilities, also delivers substantial damage.
After defeating God's Predator, proceed to the Laboratory via the Balcony. Amidst the rubble, locate a chest to the right; it contains the Tachyon Medal.
Activating the Tachyon Medal requires two prerequisites: reaching the Altar in Shangri-La and completing the Cinderella Tri-Stars side quest. The Cinderella Tri-Stars appear in eight locations, with the first two encountered during the main story:
Defeat these bosses in the specified order. After the final encounter in Shangri-La, three chests below the Altar become accessible. One contains the Holy Belt, granting All Ailment Null.
Opening all three chests reveals a glowing door. This door prompts you to use the Tachyon Medal to initiate a time reversal, unlocking NG+ mode. Your levels, items, and equipment are carried over, although enemies are significantly stronger. This poses little challenge if all side quests were completed beforehand. Using the Tachyon Medal also awards the Time Reverse Trophy/Achievement, allowing you to restart your quest to save the Human Realm.
