Team Ninja Teases 30th Anniversary Plans

Team Ninja's 30th Anniversary: Big Plans on the Horizon

Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary famed for its Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, has hinted at significant projects to commemorate its 30th anniversary in 2025. Beyond its flagship titles, the studio has also garnered success with soulslike RPGs like the Nioh series and collaborations such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The recent release of Rise of the Ronin further solidified their position in the action RPG genre.

Fumihiko Yasuda of Team Ninja, in comments reported by 4Gamer.net and Gematsu, alluded to upcoming releases "fitting for the occasion." While specifics remain undisclosed, speculation centers on potential new entries in the Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive series. Yasuda's statement, "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion," fuels anticipation among fans.

Team Ninja's 2025 Possibilities:

The announcement of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound at The Game Awards 2024 already confirms one significant 2025 release. This side-scrolling title aims to revitalize the franchise, blending classic 8-bit gameplay with modern enhancements. The last mainline Ninja Gaiden title, 2014's Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, remains a divisive entry in the series.

The Dead or Alive franchise, last updated with Dead or Alive 6 in 2019, is another strong contender for a 2025 anniversary release. Recent years have seen spin-offs rather than mainline entries. A new Dead or Alive game would undoubtedly be a significant anniversary announcement. Furthermore, the Nioh series also remains a popular candidate for a new installment amongst fans.

The coming year promises exciting developments from Team Ninja as it celebrates three decades of game development.
