Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure, Universe for Sale, is now available! Akupara Games has delivered a string of captivating titles this year, including The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
The game unfolds within a bizarre space station orbiting Jupiter, a location shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Here, witty orangutans work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is on the market, thanks to Lila, a woman with the extraordinary ability to conjure universes from her very hand.
The game begins in the dilapidated mining colony shantytown. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment – a character both unsettling and intriguing.
Your exploration of the ramshackle colony, filled with quirky tea shops and other strange establishments, leads you to Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop. Lila's enigmatic nature gradually unfolds as you shift between her perspective and the Master's throughout the game.
Playing as Lila involves creating universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to generate mesmerizing visual worlds. As the Master, you delve into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounter the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the underlying mysteries. Every character, be it human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration of every nook and cranny.
