This guide details the seven resources in Hyper Light Breaker, explaining how to acquire and utilize each. Mastering these resources is crucial for gear acquisition, permanent upgrades, enhanced survivability, and character roster expansion. All resources are viewable in the inventory's items tab.
1. Bright Blood:
This common resource is obtained by defeating enemies, destroying objects, and opening crates in the Overgrowth. Selling gear to Hub vendors also yields Bright Blood. Uses include:
2. Gold Ration:
Earned by completing Cycles (typically after using all four Rezes). Give requested materials to the Telepad NPC in the Hub to reset the Overgrowth and progress towards a Gold Ration.
Gold Rations unlock permanent upgrades via Pherus Bit and grant access to new vendor services in the Hub.
3. Abyss Stone:
Obtained by defeating Crowns (difficult bosses found via Overgrowth gates; requires collecting Prisms beforehand, marked by yellow diamonds on the map).
Abyss Stones upgrade Sycom stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth.
4. Key:
Occasionally found in unmarked small containers within the Overgrowth. Keys bypass barriers, granting access to Stashes and Labs (subterranean areas with enemies and loot).
5. MediGem:
Earned by interacting with glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. Crucial for exchanging for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and Overgrowth Shrines. Requires unlocking Medkit capacity (using one Gold Ration at Pherus Bit).
6. Core:
Found in Stashes (marked with chest icons) or by combining four Core Shards. Shards are obtained from enemies that award Prisms and unmarked lootable objects. Cores upgrade Sycom stats during loadout confirmation, enhancing Breaker capabilities.
7. Material:
Primarily earned by using Bright Blood to open small chests (often gem-marked on the map) and by selling gear in the Hub. Used to purchase gear from Hub and Overgrowth vendors.
