If you missed out on a year-end review on Snapchat last year, it's because Snap Recap is a fresh feature for 2024. Much like Spotify Wrapped and the Twitch 2024 recap, Snap Recap compiles your year's data into an engaging summary, designed for both enjoyment and a bit of self-reflection. Unlike its counterparts, Snap Recap doesn't dive deep into stats. Instead, it playfully selects a snap from each month to highlight, offering a lighter take on your year's journey. As you spend time with the 2024 Snap Recap, it seamlessly transitions into other Memories features, including flashbacks from the same date in previous years, allowing you to delve deeper into your documented life events.
Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is straightforward, as it's automatically generated. Start from the main camera page and swipe up to enter the Memories feature. Be careful not to press the camera shutter button, as that would start a new photo or video.
Once in the Memories menu, your 2024 Snap Recap should be prominently displayed as a highlighted video. It's typically the first item you'll see, making it easy to find.
Tap on the 2024 Snap Recap icon, avoiding the little blue share icon, to start viewing. After a brief cover page, you'll be treated to a curated selection of snaps, one from each month of 2024. The recap auto-scrolls through your selected photos and videos, though you can tap the screen to speed things up if you're not in the mood to dwell on certain memories, like those Psyduck-themed Ibuprofen bottle snaps.
You have the option to save, edit, or share your 2024 Snap Recap just as you would with any other Snap. You can also post it to your stories to share your year's highlights with your followers. Keep in mind, it remains private unless you choose to share it.
If you're not seeing a 2024 Snap Recap, several factors could be at play. According to Snapchat Support, the feature is being rolled out gradually, so it's possible that your recap hasn't been generated yet. Snapchat also mentions that various factors determine who receives a recap, with the number of saved Snaps being one example. If you're not an active Snapchat user or don't frequently send photos and videos, this might explain the absence of your recap. Unfortunately, if you still don't have a recap after waiting for the rollout, Snapchat Support states that you cannot request one to be created.
