Warriors: Abyss is a Roguelite Take on the Warriors Franchise, Out Today

May 01,2025 Author: Peyton

Hot off the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another thrilling title today that reinvents the musou genre. Introducing Warriors: Abyss, a captivating roguelite that brings back the iconic characters from the Warriors series, ready for action right now.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss invites players to gather a squad and carve through endless waves of adversaries. The game features an isometric camera angle, drawing inspiration from both Diablo and the Greek mythology-themed roguelite, Hades. Your mission? Navigate through the depths of "hell" and battle demonic foes with a team that includes beloved characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang.

According to the PlayStation Blog, you can recruit and integrate more characters into your team as you progress, unlocking additional summoning abilities. With the capability to command up to seven active heroes in battle, and a roster of 100 warriors available at launch today, the game promises a deep and engaging experience.

Koei Tecmo isn't stopping there; they plan to expand the character lineup post-launch, beginning with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at further expansions, teasing the potential inclusion of characters from beyond the Warriors universe in the future.

Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Nintendo Switch enthusiasts can look forward to the game's arrival on February 13, 2025. Don't miss out on the exclusive in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set, available until March 14, 2025.
