Weekly Challenges: New Mode in The Battle of Polytopia

The Battle of Polytopia has just spiced things up with its new Weekly Challenges, offering a thrilling twist to the beloved 4X strategy game. This fresh feature promises to push your strategic skills to the limit. Let's dive into what it's all about.

It Was Random Before

You're likely familiar with the unpredictability that comes with the game's randomness—ranging from different enemies and resources to ever-changing maps. However, the latest free update introduces a more structured form of competition that could change the way you play.

Every week, players face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field. The challenge? Achieve the highest possible score within 20 turns. You're allowed only one attempt per day, which means you get up to seven tries per week to outdo your opponents.

One of the coolest aspects of Weekly Challenges is that you can try out tribes you might not have purchased yet. The game boasts 16 tribes in total—four come with the base game, and the other twelve are available for purchase at $1-4 each. But with Weekly Challenges, everyone gets to compete as the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Here's a sneak peek at the latest trailer released by the developers:

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?

Absolutely, the Weekly Challenges have the potential to add a new layer of excitement to The Battle of Polytopia. And there's more—the new mode also introduces a League system. Everyone starts in the Entry League, and your performance each week determines whether you move up or down. The top third of players advance, the bottom third drop, and the middle group remains in place.

As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty ramps up. In the Entry League, you'll face Easy AI, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be up against Crazy difficulty bots. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performances of others.
