World of Warcraft has relocated Alyx, the NPC responsible for the Guest Relations mystery questlines from the 20th anniversary celebration, to Dornogal. Here, Alyx continues to accept missing Celebration Crates, ensuring that players can still obtain the coveted Detective title and embark on the quest for the elusive Felcycle mount indefinitely.
The 20th anniversary event for World of Warcraft concluded, taking with it the activities, rewards, and buffs that fans enjoyed for nearly three months. The Caverns of Time have reverted to their normal state, and the NPCs and decorations that once filled the celebration venue have vanished.
However, Alyx, the NPC central to the Guest Relations mystery questlines, remains. Now situated at the hot springs northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters building in Dornogal, near the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall, Alyx sports a new title: "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things." Accompanying Alyx is their board of notes, which provides clues to the locations of 11 Celebration Crates hidden around the world. Players who successfully locate and return all 11 crates to Alyx in Dornogal can earn the Crate Insurance Agent, No Crate Left Behind, and Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, along with the prestigious Detective title. This title is crucial as it unlocks the mystery leading to Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount.
Previously, it was known that the Incognitro secret quests would remain accessible post-anniversary, but the necessity of the Detective title to initiate the mystery with the Dalaran Survivor in Dornogal led many to believe they needed to achieve Azeroth’s Greatest Detective before the event's end. By moving Alyx to Dornogal and allowing indefinite crate submissions, Blizzard ensures that no player will be permanently barred from obtaining this rare mount.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Guest Relations quests from WoW's 20th anniversary are no longer available, as they were heavily dependent on the event grounds. This means achievements like Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats, along with their associated Thinking Cap transmogs, are now unobtainable. While it seems unlikely that World of Warcraft will revive this specific storyline, alternative methods to earn these rewards might be introduced in the future.
