World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery: Phase 7 Details and Launch
Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic will launch the seventh and final phase of Season of Discovery on January 28. This update will introduce the Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event. Following closely, on February 6, guilds will have the opportunity to tackle the legendary Naxxramas raid, which promises new challenges for players.
Phase 7 comes just two months after Phase 6, which brought players back to Silithus to engage in the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. During Phase 6, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure in the desert ruins, speculated to be Xal'atath, the main antagonist from World of Warcraft: The War Within. While the figure's comments were limited to the Old Gods, it remains unclear if they will make a final appearance in Phase 7.
Despite being the last phase of Season of Discovery, World of Warcraft Classic players will face new challenges starting on January 28. After server maintenance, players can explore the new Karazhan Crypts 5-player dungeon located in Deadwind Pass, set beneath the iconic Karazhan tower. Additionally, the Scourge Invasions event will see undead monsters attacking zones and cities across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can participate in new quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands, and collect Necrotic Runes from defeated undead to purchase new consumable items.
Season of Discovery Phase 7 will also introduce new runes available from Rune Brokers across Azeroth. On February 6, the Naxxramas raid will open, offering an "Empower" difficulty option for additional challenges. After conquering the four wings of Naxxramas, players can proceed to the Frostwyrm Lair to battle the final bosses, Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad.
While Season of Discovery concludes with Phase 7, World of Warcraft Classic has a full year of exciting content planned for 2025 across all its versions. The future of Blizzard's Seasonal realms remains to be seen, but anticipation is high for what's to come.
