Following Silksong’s brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current generation and launch directly on the next-gen console. Initially announced in 2019 for PC and the original Nintendo Switch, Silksong later expanded to include PlayStation and Xbox console releases.

On April 8, Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (X) to address fans' concerns about the game's platform availability. Griffin confirmed that Silksong will indeed be released on both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

While there are no official details on how these versions will differ, players can anticipate that the game will benefit from higher resolution and enhanced features on the Switch 2.

New Silksong Images Revealed

Following the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, new images of Silksong were showcased on Nintendo Japan’s official website. Although the settings in these images were familiar from previous reveals, fans observed noticeable graphical enhancements compared to the 2019 visuals.

Despite the developers maintaining a tight-lipped approach on most details about the game, Silksong’s appearance during the Switch 2 Direct and the release of new images hint at an imminent announcement regarding its release date. Recent updates to Silksong’s Steam Metadata have further fueled fans' anticipation for a potential launch this year.
