Squares: The Daily Word Strand Puzzle Challenge!

Maximize your word count to conquer the grid! Squares is a daily word puzzle game blending strategy and vocabulary. Your mission: complete squares on the grid to create words and achieve the highest possible score.

How to Play:

Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to form words. The goal is to uncover all the words hidden within the letter grid and amass the most points.

Game Rules:

• Scoring: Each letter in a valid word earns 1 point (e.g., a 5-letter word scores 5 points).
• Word Length: Words must contain at least 4 letters.
• Letter Usage: Each tile can only be used once per word.
• Invalid Words: Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are excluded.

Bonus Challenges:

• Bonus Words: Discover obscure, archaic, or slang terms for extra fun! These don't add to your score but appear on a separate list. The hunt continues even after finding all the main words!
• Word of the Day: Each puzzle features a special, often longer bonus word. Unlocking it rewards you with two additional hints!

Daily Puzzle & Features:

• New Puzzle Daily: A fresh Squares puzzle awaits at midnight every day.
• Grid Rotation: Struggling to find words? Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom-right corner for a new perspective.
• Letter Hints: After finding 40% of the words, a hint system activates. Numbers on each letter indicate how many words begin with that letter (0 means no words start with that letter). Letters turning orange are no longer used in main words but might appear in bonus words.
• Hints System: Each puzzle provides 3-5 hints (lightbulb icon). Hints reveal the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints depends on the puzzle's difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends grants an extra hint!
