Schedule I developer Tyler has released the highly anticipated 0.3.4 update for all players, following a brief testing period. The update, detailed in the Steam patch notes, brings significant new content to the viral hit drug dealer simulator, which has taken the gaming world by storm.
Launched in early access on Steam on March 24, Schedule I quickly became a top-selling game, outpacing major titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 5, and Marvel Rivals. The game's success is attributed to its engaging gameplay, where players start as small-time dealers and rise to become kingpins in the gritty city of Hyland Point. The game's popularity has soared across social media, Twitch, and YouTube, drawing in a massive player base.
In a Steam post, Tyler apologized for the delay in the update's release, explaining, "I'm still ironing out the update/testing process." He reassured players that future updates would be smoother and more timely, with larger monthly updates starting next month.
The 0.3.4 update introduces a range of new features, including a functional pawn shop and boutique store, along with various wall decorations. Players can now sell items to Mick at the pawn shop, enhancing the game's economy. New decorative items like wooden and metal signs, wall-mounted shelves, safes, and various lamps add to the game's immersive environment. Additionally, new items such as Ol' Man Jimmy's Whiskey, Château La Peepee, Brut du Gloop, and various watches and chains have been added, with some items set to become functional in future updates.
Tyler also outlined his focus on addressing remaining bugs, prioritizing issues such as employee consistency, save game integrity, and multiplayer connectivity. He mentioned collaborating with Valve to improve the save file format, ensuring better compatibility with Steam Cloud saves and reducing corruption risks. Tyler's goal is to optimize the game and achieve Steam Deck verification, using it as a performance benchmark.
