Paramount Pictures has recently reshuffled its movie release schedule, leading to significant delays for two eagerly awaited Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These changes mean fans will have to wait several months longer than originally planned to see these movies hit the big screen.
According to Variety, the much-anticipated The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender movie, initially set for January 30, 2026, has been rescheduled to October 9, 2026. This nearly nine-month delay marks the second postponement for the film, which was originally slated for October 10, 2025. On a brighter note, Paramount unveiled a new logo for the movie, which you can view below.
No specific reason for the delay has been disclosed, but it's confirmed that the voice cast, including Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam, remains committed to the project. The film will explore the journey of the original Avatar protagonist in a narrative set years after the conclusion of the beloved series. At last month's CinemaCon, the movie received its official title and is the first of three planned films set within this universe.
Similarly, the sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which was announced shortly before the first film's 2023 premiere, has also faced a delay. Originally scheduled for October 9, 2026, the movie will now premiere on September 17, 2027, extending the wait by almost a year. This delay adds to the anticipation around the resolution of the intriguing mid-credits scene from the first film. While plot and cast details are still under wraps, fans can look forward to the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series to tide them over until the sequel's release.
