Avex Pictures has revealed a fresh mobile game inspired by Made in Abyss. Following its success in manga, anime, and a 3D action RPG, the franchise now ventures into mobile gaming for the first time.
What’s the Latest?
The mobile game, named Made in Abyss: A Challenging and Enigmatic Adventure, was announced alongside the launch of its official X account, which is expected to share updates as the release approaches.
Details remain scarce, but the game is described as a casual mobile title. It will be available on Android and iOS, exclusively in Japan for now, with no confirmation yet on a global release.
Explored the Abyss Yet?
Made in Abyss began as a manga in 2012, created by Akihito Tsukushi and serialized on Web Comic Gamma. It centers on Riko, a young orphan from the town of Orth, which encircles a vast, mysterious chasm known as the Abyss.
The Abyss is filled with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and an eerie enigma that engulfs explorers. Riko aspires to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished into the depths.
Riko is joined by Reg, a part-robot boy with no recollection of his origins. Together, they descend into the Abyss, fully aware they may never return.
The manga was adapted into an anime in 2017, followed by a sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul, released in Japan in 2020. In 2022, Chime Corporation launched a console and PC RPG, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
