Long-awaited crossplay functionality is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While a firm release date remains unannounced, a Patch 8 Stress Test in January 2025 will give select players early access to this and other new features. This test will help identify and fix bugs before the wider release.
When is Cross-Play Arriving?
Patch 8, including crossplay, will launch sometime after the January 2025 Stress Test. The test allows Larian Studios to identify and resolve potential issues before the official release.
How to Participate in the Stress Test:
To join the Patch 8 Stress Test and experience crossplay early, register through Larian's Stress Test signup form. You'll need a Larian account. Registration is quick and involves providing basic information, including your preferred gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).
Selection isn't guaranteed. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Participants will provide feedback via forms and Discord. The test will also assess the impact on mods, making it beneficial for mod users and developers.
Important Note: All players in your Baldur's Gate 3 group must participate in the Stress Test to utilize crossplay during the test period. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release.
