Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its doors. This isn't entirely unexpected for many players, following a similar fate for Naruto Blazing.
Shutdown Date:
After a nearly seven-year run (launching in 2017), the game will shut down on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.
Final Events:
Several events are planned before the end:
- Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
- All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
- 'Thanks For Everything' Campaign: November 1st - December 1st
Players can still collect Ninja Cards, participate in summons, and use in-game items until the final day. It's recommended to spend any remaining Gold Coins.
Reasons for Closure:
While initially well-received for its balanced gameplay, allowing village building and defense, the game's later development saw a shift. The introduction of Minato and subsequent power creep, coupled with increasingly obvious pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and a decline in multiplayer features, ultimately led to player dissatisfaction and the game's eventual closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in trying it before the shutdown.
