Midjiwan has unleashed a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This marks a substantial rework of the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
The Aquarion receive a dramatic visual and functional upgrade. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, granting them amphibious capabilities. This allows for effortless water traversal, although land movement remains slower. A key addition is flooded terrain, enabling land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
Construction extends to the water. Buildings can now be erected on water, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal aquatic bases. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a returning feature, are now permanently available, functioning similarly to land-based crops.
The update introduces formidable new sea creatures: Sharks ambush units, Puffers unleash long-range bombardments, and Jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also see improvements; Crabs now flood tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See it in action!
Midjiwan's update revitalizes the Aquarion Tribe. Note that Lost Cities appear at level 3 and include an initial wall.
