Bullseye in Marvel Snap: Snap or Pass?

Apr 12,2025 Author: Sadie

Meet Bullseye, the timeless yet somewhat dated villain of the comic world. He stands out among the sea of eccentric, costumed characters with animal or object themes who often act bizarrely. Bullseye is your quintessential comic book classic, embodying a unique blend of evil and flair.

Who is Bullseye?

Bullseye is a sadistic, murderous psychopath known for his ruthless efficiency. His real name remains a mystery, though it might be Benjamin Poindexter or Lester, among other aliases. Unlike many superheroes and villains, Bullseye's abilities stem from natural talent rather than a superhuman gene, much like Hawkeye. In the Marvel Universe, his "peak human" status means he can lethally wield everyday objects, from throwing knives to pens, paperclips, and his signature razor playing cards.

Despite his simple origins, Bullseye excels as a hired mercenary, notorious for his high kill-to-costume ratio. He has left a trail of bodies across the Marvel Universe, including the infamous killing of Elektra. As a member of the Dark Avengers posing as Hawkeye, he continued his deadly work. Bullseye's intelligence turns his killing into a profitable business, and his skill ensures he's exceptionally good at it.

What Does He Do?

Bullseye's primary skill is throwing objects with deadly precision. In SNAP, he uses your weakest cards (up to 1-Cost) to deal -2 Power to your opponent's cards, hitting different targets with each card like a hat trick. This showcases his perfect aim and sadistic nature. By using Activate, you can strategically time when to discard your hand for maximum impact.

Bullseye synergizes well with Discard mechanics, such as Scorn or Swarm, which ensure your hand has cards ready for his effect. Even though Daken provides only one target, Bullseye can still target the Shard in other ways. This makes him a controlled discard option that can boost cards like Morbius or Miek. His multi-card discard can amplify the impact of MODOK/Swarm plays on turn 5, supercharging your strategy.

However, Bullseye has weaknesses. Luke Cage can neutralize his threat entirely, while Red Guardian can disrupt your plans by attacking Bullseye on a different axis. Careful planning is essential to maximize his effectiveness.

Bullseye Decks on Day One

The classic Discard deck is Bullseye's most straightforward synergy. His ability complements Scorn and Swarm, enhancing the Discard engine's potency and redundancy. Focusing on Swarm, the deck includes Collector, Victoria Hand, and Moonstone to leverage their synergy and capitalize on Bullseye's potential for massive Discard turns. Gambit, with his ability to throw playing cards, adds a powerful swing to unfavorable games.

Daken's high-cost payoff can be challenging, but Bullseye adds control and redundancy to the deck. By activating Bullseye at the end of your turn, you can buff multiple Daken copies and discard multiple Shards. This can streamline the combo without relying on Supergiant maneuvers with MODOK, potentially adding consistency. For those seeking a more extravagant approach, Bullseye offers a way to eliminate opponents in the most dramatic, absurd manner possible.

Verdict

Bullseye may prove more challenging to integrate than expected. SNAP players often struggle with the intricacies of playing around Activate, and his limited use requires careful deck-building to maximize his impact. Nevertheless, his flashy effect on a flashy character shows promise, particularly in Discard decks centered around Swarm and Scorn. Bullseye embodies the spirit of a comic book classic, bringing a unique and thrilling dynamic to your gameplay.
