Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Bunch of New Details
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set to launch in 2026, and Capcom has shared some thrilling insights into what fans can expect from this latest installment in the beloved series.
The development team is concentrating on three main areas: crafting compelling characters, introducing a new protagonist, and creating engaging enemies. They aim to meticulously recreate the setting of Kyoto, filled with authentic historical locations. The goal is to deliver the "ultimate sword fighting action" experience, complete with the intense satisfaction of slicing through foes.
Although details about the new protagonist are sparse, it's confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be set during the Edo Period. Players will battle against evil creatures called Genma, with the protagonist wielding an Oni Gauntlet. This powerful tool will be used to vanquish enemies and feed on their souls.
The game aims to be challenging but not "impossibly difficult," ensuring that action fans of all skill levels can enjoy it to the fullest.
