Boss fights in *The First Berserker: Khazan* are a thrilling challenge, and the Blade Phantom is no exception. This spectral adversary appears in the Trials of the Frozen Mountain level on Stormpass, bringing a series of relentless attacks that will push your stamina management and combat skills to the limit. Here's how to conquer this formidable foe across its two distinct phases.
Phase 1

The battle begins in a castle with floors flooded by a crimson liquid. The Blade Phantom unleashes a variety of attacks, including a six-hit combo with four punches and two kicks, a three-hit combo with two punches and a downward kick, and a four-hit combo starting with a right hook followed by two kicks and ending with a leaping kick smash. Additionally, it uses a three-hit combo with flashing punches followed by a grab that you need to dodge. Apart from these melee assaults, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer, causing red spikes to emerge, or use a spear for a quick throw and a teleporting smash. If it wields a blade, expect a swift six-hit combo. It can also vanish and dash around before striking.
Mastering the timing of these attacks and using parries or dodges effectively allows you to strike back and deplete the Blade Phantom's stamina, setting up opportunities for Brutal Attacks. Continue this strategy until you reduce its health by about half, which triggers the second phase.
Phase 2

In the second phase, the Blade Phantom initiates with four claw attacks followed by a high-altitude spear throw. Evade the impact zone and prepare for a leaping swipe, followed by three greatsword slashes and a concluding hammer smash. Alongside these new claw attacks, the boss retains many of its previous moves but introduces a spear thrust with a follow-up and swift dual-wielding attacks. Teleportation becomes more frequent, and when armed with the greatsword, be wary of multiple slashes culminating in a Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol on the screen. Counter this with a Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to restore your stamina and open the boss to further damage.
Exploit the Blade Phantom's moments of vulnerability when its stamina is depleted. Time your Brutal Attacks carefully to maximize damage and secure victory. Defeating the Blade Phantom earns you 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
