然而，其中有一个陷阱。许多玩家在Reddit帖子中指出，解锁此道具的任务非常容易错过。最糟糕的是，如果玩家错过了任务并且故事进度过远，就完全无法再获得此道具。玩家需要与黑卫大沼泽怪（Blackguard Big Boggart）互动或击败它才能获得煮螃蟹，但如果在与丽雅（Rya）对话前到达火山庄园（Volcano Manor），则整个游戏流程都会锁定该任务。不出所料，许多玩家完全错过了这个任务。
值得庆幸的是，还有其他一些道具可以达到类似的效果。例如，《艾尔登法环》的龙徽大盾护符（Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman）也有类似效果，它能降低20%的物理伤害，并且随时可以获得。唯一的缺点是它会占用护符栏位，而这个栏位可以用于其他增益。玩家重点提到的另一个重要道具是乳白硬泪滴（Opaline Hardtear），它能提升所有类型的伤害减免，持续时间长达3分钟。考虑到BOSS造成的伤害是玩家对《艾尔登法环》“The Erdtree的阴影”DLC的抱怨之一，这些道具肯定能在一定程度上缓解问题。
