Electronic Arts, known as EA, is inviting Android users to participate in an exclusive playtest for their upcoming game, City Life Game with Friends. This playtest is part of EA's broader initiative, The Sims Project Rene, aimed at innovating within the life simulation genre. The playtest is designed to collect valuable feedback on gameplay mechanics and player interactions, offering a glimpse into EA's experimental approach to game development.
Where Is the City Life Game with Friends Playtest Available?
The playtest is exclusively available on Android devices that are running at least Android 12 and have 4GB of RAM. Participation is limited to select regions, so not everyone will have the chance to join in. The playtest period is set to end on April 4th, 2025, with varying end times across regions: 7 PM UTC, 6 AM AEST for Australia, and 3 AM PHT for the Philippines. Once the playtest concludes, the game will no longer be accessible, and participants will need to uninstall it from their devices.
Keep in mind, this playtest is not a complete version of the game, nor does it fully represent the final product. Instead, it's an opportunity to see the direction EA is exploring with Project Rene, showcasing their willingness to experiment with new ideas in game design.
What’s in Store?
Participants in the playtest can dive into a vibrant neighborhood full of activities. You'll have the chance to create a character that reflects your personal style and engage in various community activities. From browsing for new outfits at the Thrift Shop to relaxing at the Café or contributing to community events, there's plenty to do.
The game encourages social interaction and community building by allowing players to collaborate on organizing block parties, making wishes at the plaza fountain, and searching for hidden collectibles. Whether you're interested in art, music, or just enjoy striking up a conversation, City Life Game with Friends fosters a sense of connection and shared experiences among players.
If you're in one of the designated playtest regions and keen to participate, you can find the game on the Google Play Store. For those unable to join, stay tuned for more gaming news, including updates on Bandai Namco's decision to discontinue PAC-MAN Mobile as it celebrates its 45th anniversary.
