While some challenges, like damaging opponents at different Points of Interest (POIs), are straightforward, tracking traces of the comet in the mountains presents a unique challenge. Here’s how to efficiently complete this task in *Fortnite* Chapter 6.
How To Track Traces of the Comet in the Mountains in Fortnite Chapter 6
As you progress to the third stage of The Spirit Realm Quests, the task can seem daunting. You're directed to search for traces of the mysterious comet within a mountain range on the southwest side of the map. With seven potential locations and only needing to interact with three, the key is efficiency. Aim to find a spot where you can complete all three interactions in one go.
The optimal approach is to head to the mountain just south of Warrior’s Watch. Here, you'll find two interaction spots on the mountain directly behind the POI, and a third on a nearby peak. However, given the high XP rewards from these Story Quests, many players will be tackling the same challenge simultaneously. It's unwise to land directly on the mountain at the game's start. Instead, land at Warrior’s Watch, take your time to loot and prepare.
When you're ready to ascend the mountain, be aware that the comet traces are somewhat elusive. They glow white with a magnifying glass icon above them, but these markers only become visible when you're quite close. Use your map as a guide, setting markers on the traces to ensure you don't stray off course or get caught in combat before you can begin the challenge.
