Genshin Impact's Wriothesley Rumored for Version 5.4 Rerun After Year-Long Wait
A leak suggests Wriothesley's highly anticipated rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, marking over a year since his debut. This highlights the game's ongoing challenge in balancing character reruns with its ever-expanding roster of over 90 playable characters. The limited rerun slots create a scheduling dilemma, even with the recent introduction of the Chronicled Banner, which many players consider a temporary solution rather than a long-term fix.
The current system struggles to provide fair and timely reruns. Even with the Chronicled Banner, characters like Shenhe experienced exceptionally long wait times before their reruns. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended delays between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this issue. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak from Flying Flame indicates Version 5.4 will finally feature Wriothesley on its Event Banners. This is further supported by the recent Spiral Abyss buff, which benefits his playstyle.
However, it's crucial to approach this information cautiously. Flying Flame's track record regarding Natlan leaks has been inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star spot is likely to be filled by either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
