Santa Monica Studio has released the eagerly anticipated God of War Ragnarök update version 06.02 patch notes to celebrate the franchise's monumental 20th anniversary. This update brings a wealth of content with the introduction of the Dark Odyssey Collection, featuring an array of cosmetic enhancements for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, along with revamped appearances for the iconic weapons of the God of War series. This comprehensive update is now available to all players at no extra cost, making it a must-have for fans of the saga.

The Dark Odyssey Collection is a nod to the series' rich history, drawing inspiration from the original God of War (2005) and the exclusive God of War II skin for those who conquered the game on God Mode. Players can now immerse themselves in the sleek black and gold aesthetic that defined early entries in the franchise. The update includes the Dark Odyssey Armor Set for Kratos, complete with the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt, as well as the Dark Odyssey Vestment for Atreus and the Witch Frock for Freya.

But the celebration doesn't stop at character cosmetics. The update also brings Dark Odyssey appearances for Kratos' arsenal, including the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Draupnir Spear, each accompanied by unique attachments like the Dark Odyssey Knob, Handles, and Hind. Additionally, a variety of Dark Odyssey shield appearances, including the Guardian Shield, Dauntless Shield, Stone Wall Shield, Shatter Star Shield, Onslaught Shield, and Spartan Aspis Shield, are available. Note that these weapon appearances are designed for the fully upgraded versions of each weapon and will unlock upon reaching those upgrade levels.
