Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 actor Ned Luke reassures fans that GTA 6 is worth the wait and makes a bold prediction about its sales. Dive in to discover more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day

Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has high expectations for GTA 6, predicting it will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day. In a candid interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Luke expressed his excitement about the upcoming title, emphasizing that Rockstar Games always manages to surprise its audience.
"Be patient," Luke advised fans. "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He highlighted that GTA 5 amassed over $800 million within its first 24 hours back in 2013, confidently stating that GTA 6 would surpass these figures significantly.
According to DFC Intelligence, a research firm, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its debut year, with $1 billion coming solely from pre-orders.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also shared his thoughts on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly in GTA 6. He noted that his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its inception, unlike the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, who have made appearances.
He hinted at the possibility of Michael featuring in a rumored final DLC for GTA Online or even making a comeback in GTA 6. Steven Ogg, who portrayed Trevor in GTA 5, discussed his ideal scenario for Trevor in GTA 6 with ScreenRant in January 2025, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment where Trevor meets his end early in the game.
"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy," Luke remarked. Despite the enthusiasm from both actors to reprise their roles, no official confirmation has been made regarding the characters' inclusion in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York suggested that GTA 6 might currently be in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York discussed the unique nature of GTA 6 and its development status.
He emphasized the game's unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." York believes that GTA 6 is undergoing in-house testing, with developers still adding final touches and extras.
He speculated that the game is at least playable at this stage, and many testers might have already experienced it.
Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, but has since remained tight-lipped about further details. Reports from Take-Two Interactive’s Financial Report in 2024 suggested a Fall 2025 release for GTA 6, though no official release date has been confirmed.
