In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, the thrill of the hunt extends beyond just battling terrifying creatures. If you've forgotten the hint provided by Samin, your journey to find the Rime Beetle begins in the Iceshard Cliffs region. This isn't a simple task of setting a waypoint; you'll need to rely on your observation skills and a bit of luck. The Rime Beetle is an endemic creature that rolls up balls of packed snow, making it easier to spot in snowy areas.
Focus your search on Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13 within the Iceshard Cliffs. As you traverse these snow-covered zones, keep an eye out for the Rime Beetle's snowballs. Additionally, following tracks in the snow can lead you to your target.

While you can collect the Rime Beetle by hand or with the Hook Slinger, capturing it requires a different approach. Equip your Capture Net, which should already be part of your gear. To do this, hold L1/LB and scroll through your options until you reach the Capture Net. Press Square/X to equip it, then aim with L2/LT.
Once the Rime Beetle is in your crosshairs and the target turns orange, fire to capture it. Successfully doing so will add the Rime Beetle to your collection and fulfill Samin's request. Alternatively, if you choose to grab it manually, you'll obtain Frost Pods, useful for inflicting ice damage in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.
That covers everything you need to know about finding and capturing Rime Beetles in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and information on the game, keep exploring The Escapist.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
