The Animal Friends mod comes with several customizable features. In addition to the auto-petter, you can enable an auto-feeder, a friendship multiplier, and a feature to prevent friendship loss. The friendship multiplier increases the number of hearts your animals can have, while preventing friendship loss ensures that the hearts you've gained don't diminish over time.
To tweak the settings, locate the "AnimalFriends.json" file within the unzipped mod folder. It's a simple text document where you can activate features by changing "false" to "true". For example, to enable the auto-petter, you'd modify the line to: ["auto-feed": true]. To disable a feature, revert the setting back to "false".
The friendship multiplier works differently; you'll need to input a number between 1 and 100. Setting it to 100 allows you to maximize your animals' affection without the need for extensive bonding. To disable this feature, set it back to 1.
Upon first installation, the mod comes with default settings where the auto-pet and auto-feed functions are disabled, but it does multiply the heart points gained from petting by five and automatically activates the prevent friendship loss feature.
If you decide to remove the mod, avoid simply deleting the mod folder. Instead, use the Mods of Mistria Installer to uninstall it properly, which helps prevent any corruption or errors in your save file.
