It's essential to understand that you can only throw rocks while in stealth mode. To enter stealth, press the right stick on your controller or the C key on your PC. Once in stealth, depending on your platform, hold the following button to prepare your throw:
As you hold the button, Henry's right hand will appear on the screen, ready with a pebble. A small crosshair will also appear, showing you where the rock will land. Aim carefully, then release the button to send the rock flying.

The beauty of throwing rocks lies in their unlimited availability; you don't need to worry about running out or retrieving them. When executed correctly, enemies will wander over to investigate the noise, giving you a chance to either take them down stealthily or slip away unnoticed. Be cautious, though; directly hitting an enemy with a rock will immediately alert them and cause a commotion.
Rocks also serve another purpose: knocking down bird nests. These are scattered throughout the game world and can yield valuable rewards like eggs, which offer a small nutritional boost, or even rare dice badges.
