Get ready for a celestial shake-up! Hearthstone's Battlegrounds mode is launching Season 9 on December 3rd, bringing a universe of changes, updates, and brand-new features. Prepare for cosmic vibes, cutting-edge tech, and a completely overhauled minion lineup – it's a Tavern makeover of epic proportions!
Key Changes:
Bob's Technotavern receives a major upgrade! Season 9 resets ratings and bids farewell to Trinkets, replacing them with exciting new Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens let you reroll a hero option at the selection screen, offering a second chance if you're unhappy with your initial choices.
Reveal Schedule:
Before the full launch, Hearthstone is unveiling new content in stages:
- November 20: Naga and Dragon reveals.
- November 21: Quilboar and Beast reveals.
- November 22: Pirate and Duos-only reveals.
- November 25: Murloc and Demon reveals.
- November 26: Elemental and Undead reveals.
- December 2: Preview event streams and 31.2 patch notes.
New Additions and Tweaks:
Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo already generating considerable buzz with his Galaxy's Lens ability. Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are entering or leaving the pools, dramatically altering gameplay strategies.
A damage cap adjustment impacts solo Battlegrounds: Early game damage is capped at 5, rising to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. However, this cap is removed once you reach the top 4.
Minion Release Schedule:
- December 3: Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs enter the fray.
- December 5: Murlocs and Demons join the battle.
- December 9: Undead and Elementals complete the lineup.
