Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only excels in its thrilling action gameplay but also offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. You can tailor one outfit for stealthy encounters with machines, while another might be optimized for melee or ranged combat.
There are moments when you'll wish you could harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible, though with certain limitations. Below is a detailed guide on how to achieve this.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required

In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, you can benefit from the effects of two outfits, a feature exclusive to this version. A recent patch introduced the transmog feature, enabling you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of performance.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method

To utilize the effects of two outfits, you must be aware of a few key points. The method described here isn't compatible with all outfits. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of these three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
This technique can't be used early in the game, as these outfits are found only in the Frozen Wilds DLC area. Fortunately, accessing this area doesn't require completing the base game.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
To start, enter the expansion area by defeating the new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once inside, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue Merchant icon) to purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain, you need to complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear for this challenging mission, or switch to Story mode for an easier completion and quicker unlock. The process for obtaining the Adept version is identical but can only be done in New Game Plus.
After securing the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. You don't need to engage with any further Frozen Wilds content if you choose not to.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits

First, equip your preferred outfit, focusing on the one with the desired stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. Once you've chosen your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't add extra stats, they do provide automatic healing after a period of taking damage.
This approach lets you retain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, as damage is rare, and the healing perk from the Banuk Werak outfits will activate after a brief delay.
The healing perk of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activates faster than the Banuk Werak Runner's, making them the preferable choice if available.
