The MP1st website has revealed information regarding the unannounced remake of *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion*. Notably, these details are said to originate from the portfolio site of an anonymous developer, rather than from typical insider leaks. The project is reportedly in development at Virtuos Studio using Unreal Engine 5 and will incorporate several significant changes.
According to the portfolio of a former Virtuos employee, *Oblivion* is undergoing a complete reimagining. This encompasses major overhauls to core mechanics like stamina management, stealth, blocking, archery, damage reactions, and the user interface. The new blocking system, for instance, takes inspiration from Soulslike titles, addressing the perceived limitations of the original. The damage calculation has been redesigned, characters will show visible reactions when hit, and the stamina system is expected to be more intuitive. The UI and archery mechanics are also being modernized to align with contemporary gaming standards.
MP1st theorizes, based on the compiled information, that the project may have started as a remaster—as indicated in previously leaked Microsoft documents—before evolving into a comprehensive remake.
The outlet also consulted its own sources, who verified that the *Oblivion* remake will not be featured in the upcoming Developer_Direct showcase. However, the wait might not be extensive, as rumors suggest a potential release later this year.
