New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

May 16,2025 Author: Samuel

Exciting news has emerged for Disney enthusiasts as Disneyland Paris gears up for the construction of the first-ever land and attraction themed to The Lion King, set to break ground in Fall 2025. This new addition will be a cornerstone of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. The Lion King ride promises to immerse guests in the iconic moments of the beloved 1994 animated film, featuring a thrilling water ride experience that includes a significant 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

A newly released concept image showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting, hinting at the detailed and immersive environments guests can expect. The Lion King-themed land will also boast a majestic 120-foot-high Pride Rock, alongside an array of dining options, shopping experiences, and character meet-and-greets, ensuring a rich and engaging visit for all ages.

While an exact opening date for The Lion King ride remains undisclosed, it is slated to open following the debut of World of Frozen in 2026. Disney Adventure World is poised to expand the park's footprint significantly, doubling its current size and offering a plethora of new attractions.

In addition to The Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will introduce other exciting attractions such as the Raiponce Tangled Spin, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed after Up, designed as a spinning carousel providing breathtaking views of the park's scenery.

The grand entrance to Disney Adventure World, named World Premiere, is set to open on May 15, 2025, and will emulate the glamor of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host a variety of theatrical shows including TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
