Indiana Jones Unveils Secrets of Lost Fountain Puzzle

Jan 09,2025 Author: Grace

This guide unravels the secrets of the Fountain of Confession puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a challenging Vatican-set mystery echoing the feel of a classic Indy film. Solve this puzzle to unlock the secrets of the giants.

Solving the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Following the Sacred Wounds puzzle and escape from the Vatican's underground, Indy uses the scroll from the Giant's tomb to locate his next target: the Fountain of Confession. Remember to photograph all signs, statues, and murals for Adventure Points!

Exit Antonio's office (as in the Sacred Wounds mission) and use your journal's map to find the courtyard stairs leading to the puzzle's starting point.

The Fountain of Confession entrance

First, retrieve the fountain key from the chest near the fountain's right-hand construction area. This unlocks the adjacent storage room.

The fountain key

Use your whip to rappel to the rooftop, then swing to the window, returning you to the fountain's upper level. You'll see two dragon statues. Ignore the first; swing to the second, grab its claw to activate a lever.

A dragon statue

Use the lever to rotate the statue until it faces the opposite dragon. Repeat this on the other statue, revealing a missing claw.

The missing claw is on the scaffolding below. Rappelling down triggers a cutscene with Gina Lombardi, who then assists. Retrieve the claw.

The missing dragon claw

Replace the claw, rotate the statue to face its counterpart, causing the ground-level fountain statue to turn towards the wall. Rappel down.

Use your whip to pull the fountain statue, revealing a gate blocked by three statues: an angel, a man, and a smaller figure. A lever appears; Indy and Gina activate it together, revealing the first wall puzzle. (Note: Examine the pillar inscriptions for Adventure Points and clues.)

Pulling the lever

The first puzzle involves placing the male statue under the water bucket, activating the water mechanism, then pushing the wet statue towards the smaller figure, completing a “baptism” and moving a gate statue.

Reactivate the lever for the second puzzle, involving moving stone layers to guide an angel figure across a path. Use the handles to maneuver the angel to the right.

Second puzzle solution

This moves another gate statue, unlocking the gate. Finally, push the remaining central statue through the gate to activate a spiral staircase and proceed.

Final step Puzzle completion

Congratulations! You've solved the Fountain of Confession puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, available now on PC and Xbox.
